I’ve always said I would share recipe’s that are easy, and this recipe is super easy, no excuses with this one, it’s easy, fun and the kids can join in.

Her husband, Stewart, is the chef at Ginger restaurant in Port Elizabeth and she was kind enough to share their throw together recipe for easy cinnamon buns with us!

Hi I’m Courtney and this is my beautiful family of four!
This delicious treat idea was birthed by my eldest son Kayleb and seeings its Easter I said why not! Plus it was fun for my boys to join in on the making, this recipe was a throw together what ever we have recipe and it came out delicious, although I do have a husband who is a chef so that’s a bonus!! It was so easy to make and it was so much fun for my boys!! WIN WIN!! So here it is! I hope you enjoy it.
You will need:
One bag of dough (you can buy this at any supermarket)
1 slab of Hazel nut chocolate
1/4 cup brown sugar preferably treacle
4 tbls of cinnamon
1/4 cup maple syrup
5 marshmallow cut up or you can buy mini marshmallows
Feel free to add more if you like!
Roll dough in rectangular shape as flat as possible.
Mix cinnamon sugar and syrup together
Smear half all over the dough
Grate half the slab of chocolate over the dough
Roll into Swiss roll shape
Cut thickness as desired
Place in a buttered oven tray
Let prove for 30 min
Dress with the last of your cinnamon sugar syrup mixture – add more if wanted 🙂
Bake at 200 degrees C for 30 – 35 min
Take out and garnish with marshmallows and grate the rest of the chocolate over the top
Bake for additional 5 min
Enjoy while hot!
