There’s always a slight panic in our house when school holidays are about to start. I try and prepare for as much as possible ahead of time, like grocery shopping, finishing up whatever work I need to get ahead on, planning outings for the two weeks (or at least thinking about it). Being a “work at home mom” has it’s advantages, while school is going, but during the holidays the productivity takes a bit of a nose-dive as I maximize the time I have with my boys at home, and take them to the beach and to visit the grandparents.
Today is THAT day. The LAST day of the school term, so they finish early (only God knows why) and I have to try and cram as much as possible into the two and a half hours as I can. So hubby has dropped them quite early today, 07h15, so that I can get on top of things at home.
Here’s my Friday list so far:
- Take the wet bedding to the laundromat – cause water restrictions.
- Go fill up our water bottles at the water place – cause water restrictions.
- Design a print ad for my hubby’s business
- Fetch kids at 10h30
Do you think I’m going to make it in two and a half hours? I may have to leave the water till after I fetch them, cause that design is going to take some time.
Anyway, you get the idea, and I’m pretty sure mom’s everywhere are in the same boat as we batten down the hatches for the next two weeks of holidays!
I’d love to hear your tips and tricks for prepping for the holidays, leave them in the comments!
